Just got this little guy. He is very shy but a beauty!

He is very skinny. He is eating well now though, so I hope he fills out a bit soon. I saw him at the LFS and had to bring him home, it's like the poor things don't get fed or something.
Hardy is right, this little one looks like a piece of straw with a horse head on it, and he is still going strong.

As he plumps out I'll post his progress.

I had a horsefaced loach about a year ago. He never did fatten up and eventually died. It was a sad day, but he was a PetsMart purchase....

Nice find! My lfs have a few of them in atm - they are all very skinny too. I don't think these guys travel very well.

it might take a little while before you put some pics up Munkee, i got mine about 2mths ago and i can see the difference in his body but all my wife sees is a head with a strap for a body, here's a couple of pics.
this is the day after i got it.

and this is him/her now, can you see the difference.

I can see the difference Mick! He is looking great, must be eating well. Mine is just as skinny as yours in the first pic.

I'm sure it will take a bit, but as he gets bigger I'll keep you updated.

Seems a lot of people have seen these skinny little ones in the LFS near them.

They tend to come in from the suppliers in a very skinny state, no matter where they are ordered from. I've never seen a batch come in looking well fed yet.

That's odd, Emma. I had some before but they were never skinny at all. In fact, they look really well-fed but that was in 2002.

Sorry Blue, I didn't mean for that to sound like they never come in in a good state, but in all the years I've been bringing in fish from various places, I have never received any really well conditioned ones. It's a case of getting them in, conditioning them up for a couple of months, then putting them on sale.
