Cute froggy picture du jour.
Oddly enough, no, he doesn't have a name. None of my fish do either, not even my favorite kuhli.

Have you thought of getting another one to keep him company? :D

Yes, I have three at home which I got at the beginning of December. They went through the chytrid treatment, and their quarantine is over at the end of February. If everybody's still OK, one of them will come here to work to keep this one company.

They're enthusiastic feeders, sometimes appearing to engage in terrible battles over food, but nobody is ever visibly injured. I feed them individually with hemostats to make sure each one gets a comfortable amount in their tummy.

Yes, I was rather hoping to pair them off, but so far nobody has a white spot in their armpits. They're either still too young, or all females. They are, however, VERY cute.

He has his very own never-seen-soap coffee mug (but without the coffee stains mine sports.) I scoop out half a mug of his old water, slowly fish him out by hand, CAREFULLY put him in the mug, rubberband netting over the top, and drape a paper towel over the whole thing so he calms down. After thoroughly cleaning his abode, I gently pour him back in. All of this on a full belly (him, not me) because changing his water right after feeding prevents him from swimming in Dead Brine Shrimp Soup (Frog Pellet/Bloodworm/Glassworm/etc.).
ADFs aren't just cute, they're extremely hardy little critters.

OK, one of the three at home has white spots in HIS armpits. He's the one I'll take to work. I'm kinda hoping they'll be friendly enough to share the mug for the seven minutes it takes to clean their tank :)
