Gotta set up a proper breeding tank for these in the future when they grow up a bit more; they are only about 1.5" TL.

Oh and excuse water marks!

I haven't got a substrate in this tank as it is only going to be set up for a couple more weeks and they will be going into a rio 400.

They look like in breeding condition as of now. My youngsters i received from Mick haven't grown above 1.5 inches TL in years but have bred for thee/me!

great lookers David, hope you have as much success as the rest of us bud.
here's a tip to get you on your way, when you set them up to breed use gravel thats large enough for eggs to get down but not the adults plus a small clump of jave-moss and a nice cooler water change.

I actually did a cool water change after i took those photos so they may have spawned now but the eggs will have been eaten?
I also don't have a tank suitable for breeding atm, i have a rio 180 spare - they would get lost!!!! lol

My Dad said he would get a small 1ft tank tomorrow for them, i just hope i'm not to late.

Would they be ok at room temperature? as i don't have a small enough heater and i don't really have the money to be buying one.

room temp would be fine, when i spawned them i used a air driven songe filter i don't think they need the current to breed as mine just got down to it and give me loads of eggs.

Thanks Mick, i'll get the tank tomorrow and get the females and male in there and a cool water change a lil later and hope for the best!
