Yo-yo or Polka-dot?

Post by tender »

Hi!
Can someone tell me if the picture in this profile http://akvaforum.no/profile.cfm?id=9520&tab=1 is a yo-yo or a Polka-dot?
(A bit embarrasing, but since I`m unsure I thought it would be best to ask)

Kind regards

Hi Marius,

It looks like Botia histrionica to me, but wait and see what the others think.

I cant take credit for spotting it  It was another member on the forum who asked the question. I`m just the "messenger" who posted the question here on Loaches.

But it`s really interesting what you guys are saying. The photographer is a moderator on the forum where the picture is taken, so I hope he`ll check in on the thread and give some more info.

My money is on B.histrionica
So many species of fish yet so little time, space and money to keep them all...

I found another picture on the same forum which is said to be a YO-YO.
I`m convinced it`s not. (it`s not taken by the same photographer). Any idea as to what species this is?... link: http://akvaforum.no/profile.cfm?id=9520 ... image=7584

it frightens me that the pic is from jj's collection, but i think this fish is almorhae with a very unusual pattern.
i have a young one that could possibly look like this fish when it grows up.

sorry mate, i meant his pic collection, quite a lot of his pics are'nt the fishes true identity.
he's a very good photographer but why does he take pics of underfed fish.

So you know the photographer? Is he a member here?
But the fish in the profile is actually a Yo-Yo?

EDIT: the fish in the profile certainly doesn`t look underfed to me :?:

Wow! To an untrained eye like mine, that pic looks like a mix between a Polka-dot and a Yo-Yo. But since you say it`s a Yo-yo, I believe you :D
